142 young people from 31 countries attend the IEDC summer schools

After a successful conslusion of two editions of Young Managers Program, the certificates were awarded also to the participants of Discover Management Program. The international summer schools of management, organized by IEDC already for the last 13 years, so far attended by over 800 young people from more than 40 countries, this year attracted 142 present and future managers from 31 countries, who came to Bled in order to gain new knowledge and spread their international networks, while they were enthusiastic also about Slovenia's tourist attractions.


From the middle of June till the middle of July a two-week seminar Young Managers Progam (YMP), designed for those who recently assumed management positions took place at the IEDC, again in two editions due to a great interest; it was attended by 86 young managers from 18 countries. In the first half of July the IEDC hosted another 56 young graduates and students from 25 countries, who participated in the Discover Management Program (DMP), an intensive nine-day seminar, which does not require preliminary knowledge from the management field. The young people were characterised by curiosity, eagerness to learn new things, willingness to take an active part in the program and to share experience with the colleagues from all over the world.

Countries represented: Albania, Armenia, Austria, BiH, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kirgizistan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Morocco, Moldova, Montenegro, The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

IEDC summer schools taught by professors from renowned business schools and consultancies from Europe and North America, provided the participants an overview of the main fields of management and managerial skills; in addition, the young people had a chance to explore the attractions of Bled, Ljubljana and other Slovenian towns, while they also went for rafting to the Soča River.

In frame of IEDC's 20th anniversary celebrations, this year also an International Summer School Reunion took place in Bled, gathering past and present summer school participants. At the round table "Where are we today and where are we going", Tomislav Gavazzi, director of Infoarena, Rašeljka Maras Juričić, director of Meritor Media, both from Croatia, and Tomaž Štefe, director of Šouhostel, Slovenia, explained how they used the knowledge gained at the summer school. They pointed out that during the summer schools they got to know themselves better, made plenty of friendships and developed numerous business ideas, while by further participation in the IEDC alumni events they have been further reinforcing their international networks.
