A new IEDC Alumni Club in Ukraine

Kiev (Ukraine), 26 September 2006

More than 40 IEDC alumni and guests gathered in Kiev for the late afternoon seminar "The Transformation of Organizations and Management" with Prof. Randy Kudar. On this occasion, a Ukrainian IEDC Alumni Club was formally established, as the ninth in the network of IEDC alumni clubs (IEDC has such clubs also in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Slovenia).

Within the frame of its 20th anniversary, the IEDC has been organizing special events for all alumni clubs throughout the jubilee year. The Ukrainian alumni have expressed their wish to take this opportunity and meet with Prof. Randy Kudar, who has been titled "Professor of the Year" by the IEDC MBA participants several times.

Prof. Kudar’s lecture featured a ground-breaking approach in order to show how different sciences, including general systems theory, quantum physics and complexity and chaos theories can contribute to making management more efficient and responsive to the fast-changing environment of today. His observations convinced the audience to try and see a broader paradigm of management valid to build a brighter future in their organizations.

In Ukraine there are more than 20 IEDC alumni and every year an increasing number of Ukrainian managers are interested to study at IEDC. The idea of establishing an alumni club in Ukraine came already last year; however the above mentioned lecture attended by almost all Ukrainian alumni was the right opportunity for a formal establishment. Ms. Olesya Gomolska, MBA 2002, President’s Assistant at Information Society of Ukraine Foundation, was chosen to be the first person in charge of moving the wheel of the Ukrainian alumni club.
