
Dr. Veselinovič participated in many international finance conferences worldwide; so far he produced more than 500 articles and 5 books on international finance and capital and securities markets developments. His closer interest is in foreign exchange hedging and arbitrage instruments, derivatives and stock exchange.
From 1981 to 1989 he worked for the largest bank in Slovenia - Ljubljanska banka, Ljubljana (foreign exchange manager, international treasurer, foreign exchange and international treasury manager, special forex adviser). In 1989 he was elected as the project manager for the first Stock Exchange in any socialist country (at that time) - Yugoslav Stock Exchange. After he started the whole project he was elected as the first president and chief executive officer of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange. He left Ljubljana Stock Exchange at the end of 2004 to assume the position of the President of Management Board at Deželna banka Slovenije. In the beginning of 2009 he has become the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nova Ljubljanska banka, the largest Slovenian bank. He left NLB at the end of 2009 and became Chief Executive Officer and the Board Member of KD Group, the largest private financial conglomerate in Slovenia and in the region.
From 1990 until 1993 he was also a member of the Slovene Parliament (economic chamber - finance). Since 1987, he has been Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana (International Finance). Since 2002 Dr. Veselinovič has been a regular contributor to EIU (Economist London) and is also a regular visiting professor at IEDC and some other international faculties (Vienna University, London School of Economics and Political Science). Dr. Veselinovič was also the president of the Bank Association of Slovenia. In his career he was chairing many supervisory boards and/or auditing committees in different important companies (Krka, Slovene Restitution Fund, Paprnica Radeče,and many others). He was adviser to the Slovene government in the period of going independent in early nineties.
