Program Content
The manager involved in the decision making process which affects the health of his company is being pushed more and more to make his decisions from a base of financial knowledge and understanding. Management action is more frequently expressed in financial terms and its success or failure measured against financial standards.
- Understand the language and concepts of financial and management accounting as well as its application in the company's everyday practice;
- Develop better communication skills and foster greater confidence in communicating with specialists;
- Evaluate and interpret the usefulness of different costing approaches by analyzing their practica applications as well as their motivational aspects;
- Use this new learned techniques and information immediately in practice and motivate further study in the future.

The seminar is organized in two parts during two separate weeks. The first week is designed to give the non-specialist a rapid appreciation of the fundamentals of finance and accounting as well as the impact of some crucial management decisions on the overall financial health of a business. All these topics are supported by case studies and the participants will work on a business game with personal computer support. The topics in the second week cover specific decision-making areas such as costing, profit planning, capital budgeting and management control.
The Program will be held in Slovene.
