IEDC – Bled School of Management hosted a 2-day workshop and General Assembly meeting for the Equal4Europe project partners

Bled, June 27 – 28, 2022: The EQUAL4EUROPE project is established by a consortium of six European academic institutions, which is besides IEDC consisting of ESADE (Spain), Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia), ESMT Berlin (Germany), INSEAD (France), as well as an independent consultancy firm, NEHEM BV (Netherlands) to contribute to gender equality in science.

At the workshop organized by IEDC, 7 other institutions have participated: ESADE, INSEAD, ESMT, RSM, UNIBA Comenius University, EFMD and NEHEM.

The workshop in Bled was led by Dr. Susan Madsen, a world-renowned expert on women's equality in academia, author of a global study on women's leadership and author of a series of books on women leaders, from Utah Valley University, USA. Participants had the opportunity to discuss in depth structural, institutional and cultural changes towards improving gender equality in academic institutions.

The event also included a panel with representatives of the Equal4Europe Advisory Board. Oľga Pietruchová from the Slovak Ministry of Justice and Mark Smith, Director of the Stellenbosch Business School in South Africa, presented good practices in the implementation of mechanisms to improve gender equality, and had a frank discussion on the biggest challenges with leading representatives of partner educational institutions.

At the General Assembly, the partner institutions discussed the work carried out during the first two and a half years of the project, and set guidelines and objectives for the future, which included the dissemination and sustainability of the project results, and the improvement of cooperation with the scientific community, civil society and business, both at national and European level.
