On 28 February, IEDC President, Prof. Danica Purg and IEDC Dean, Prof. Drikus Kriek, received a delegation of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. We are honoured that the EBRD chose to come to IEDC as part of their visit to Slovenia with the intention to better understand the priorities of the local economy and to maintain a close dialogue with local clients and stakeholders.
The EBRD Board of Directors got acquainted with IEDC, its history, values and mission, and innovation, as well as with the Hidden Champions project, a global research, that is currently taking place under the umbrella of the Alliance of Management Development Associations in Rising Economies, involving 35 countries and 121 researchers from CEE, Latin America, Asia and Africa. This is already the third research conducted by IEDC on Hidden Champions, the most innovative companies that are champions not because of their size, but because of their market share, usually in a specific niche market. Slovenia is well-known for its innovative companies and currently there are 16 Hidden Champions in Slovenia, more than in any other highly developed economy in Western Europe.
