From the very beginning, IEDC recognized the need for a balance between aiming towards global business practices and dealing with specific local problems. The underlying strategy of building a close network of excellent, world-class teachers from world-class institutions and matching them with local experts became a cornerstone of the IEDC policy.
IEDC has its own faculty, educated at Harvard, Stanford, Kellogg Business School, IMD, INSEAD and the London School of Economics and more than 50 renowned visiting professors, many of them from the best European and North American business schools and other management development institutions from about 30 countries. The reliance on professors of different nationalities brings a real life appreciation of different cultures and perceptions right into the classroom. Close cooperation with numerous local and international management consultants contributes to successful interlinking and interaction of contemporary management theory and practice.
Since IEDC is driven by a vision that successful management is also strongly affected by the society that surrounds us, and aims to promote ethical, socially responsible and creative leadership, it puts significant emphasis on exposing participants to experiences from broader human activities and in particular arts and politics. IEDC therefore regularly invites guest lecturers from society at large, including prominent creative and performance artists, sportsmen, leading politicians and philosophers, NGO representatives, as well as successful business people, to open up the mind to the importance of original and creative thinking, quality and communication.
