Marius Claudy

Dr. Marius Claudy is an Associate Professor with over 15 years of international experience in Germany, Ireland, the UK and Canada. Marius researches the adoption and diffusion of new technologies, specifically AI, and the barriers firms face when launching new technologies in consumer markets. His research has been disseminated widely at conferences, in the media, and in leading international journals like the Journal of Consumer Research (FT50), Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (FT50), Journal of Product Innovation Management (ABS4), or the Journal of Business Ethics (FT50). It has received several awards and prizes and attracted significant amounts of public funding. In his consultancy work, Prof. Claudy helps organizations to harness cutting-edge knowledge in innovation and consumer behavior to improve insight-driven strategies that effectively develop, market and diffuse technologies in (consumer) markets. His academic research uses experimental methods to understand the behavioral factors that impact how consumers interact with and adopt new technologies. His work addresses questions such as “How can firms can effectively overcome consumer resistance towards new products?” or “How can firms leverage AI and analytics to create value for their customers”. Marius is passionate about teaching, for which he received the UCD College of Business Teaching and Leaning Award for Teaching Excellence. Marius is a technological optimist. He believes in humans’ ability to leverage technology to transform societies for the better.
