Tamara Zajec Balažič brings over 20 years of leadership and strategic advisory experience in international companies across various sectors. For more than a decade, she has held executive director roles and led large teams of over 100 professionals. Her expertise includes project and program management, organizational and digital transformation, HRM, cost and process optimization, and strategic development.

She has worked in leading international firms such as Kearney, Ernst & Young, Sava Insurance Group, and the Raiffeisen Banking Group, where she specialized in transforming organizations in both EU and non-EU countries across Eastern and Southern Europe.
Since July 2025, Tamara has been serving as the Director of SPIRIT Slovenia, the national business development agency. In this role, she leads the strategic direction of the agency in alignment with government priorities to enhance the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy. Her responsibilities include coordinating efforts in entrepreneurship promotion, internationalization, and foreign direct investment. She is focused on raising awareness of SPIRIT’s programs among businesses and strengthening collaboration with other key stakeholders to support the development of Slovenia’s business environment.
