Application Evaluation
- Case-by-case approach: IEDC evaluates applications on a case-by-case basis. The application is evaluated according to a range of criteria which include the applicant’s work experience and professional performance, academic records, proficiency in English language, professional recommendations, evidence of an international outlook, strong motivation, and, for the one- and two-year EMBA applicants, demonstrated leadership potential.
- Interviews: All applicants who fulfill the formal criteria will be invited for an interview, either in person or via telephone. Normally, the applicant will hear whether his/her application has been successful within one month of the interview.
- Time and class size constraints (one- and two-year EMBA): The one- and two-year EMBA admissions process works on a rolling basis, which means that applications are evaluated in the order in which they are received. Due to limited space, we suggest that applications be submitted as early as possible. Due to class size constraints and the desire to achieve a balanced mixture of backgrounds, not all applicants, even some of those fully qualified, can be admitted to the program.
- Additional information: prospective applicants who need help with their application package or wish to receive an informal evaluation of their eligibility for the program before submitting a formal application are welcome to contact the IEDC EMBA Office.
- The program fees for the One-Year EMBA program, which cover tuition and classroom materials, total 23,000 euro.
- The Two-Year EMBA program fees, which cover tuition and classroom materials, are 28,500 euro.
- The Presidents’ MBA program fee, which covers tuition and classroom materials, is 34,000 euro.
- Accommodation and living expenses are estimated at 6,000 euro when opting for hotel accommodation and approximately 3,500 euro when choosing accommodation in private boarding houses.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Financing your investment in the future
The IEDC Executive MBA program is not just an investment in participants and their career - it is also an investment that a company makes into its competitive viability. Many participants are supported by their companies, while the rest pay the tuition fee individually, either by installments or by taking a loan.
- Corporate Sponsorship
By investing in their executives, the companies increase their pool of well-trained managers able to successfully face competitive challenges. This is why many of them support their executives, either financially (fully or partially) or through time commitments, or both. Sending a manager to an Executive MBA program can give a company a manager with
- a better understanding of business challenges
- an integrated and structured approach to managing business
- a solid foundation in functional management
- improved managerial and leadership skills
- an increased ability to manage change
- greater self-confidence
- international exposure
- more business and network contacts
- Payment by Installments
All participants may choose to pay the tuition fee either in one sum at the start of the program or by installments that spread the costs over a duration that is acceptable to both the school and the participant. If payment is made in installments, there is an additional charge of 1,000 euro.
- Loan Financing
Participants not sponsored by their companies often qualify for loans or other forms of financial aid.
- Scholarship funds: a number of institutions is providing scholarship or loans for Master studies, including the Slovenian Human Resource Development and Scholarship Fund: http://www.sklad-kadri.si/
- Loans for citizens of the Republic of Slovenia for studies in Slovenia and abroad:Po novem skladovi krediti tudi za študij doma

Open to outstanding candidates who meet the qualifying criteria, the campaign offers five scholarships for up to 50% off the tuition fees for the 2011 One-Year and Two-Year MBA Programs intake respectively.
Do I qualify for a scholarship?
Executive MBA Scholarship Campaign is open to qualifying candidates only. To qualify, make sure that apart from general admission criteria, you meet scholarship criteria.
What are the criteria used by the scholarship committee?
Three main criteria are used to assess the scholarship application:
- Intellectual merit: demonstrated by prior academic and professional achievement, and supported by high interview score given by the MBA Director during the candidate one-on-one interview.
- Financial need: demonstrated by the GDP and purchasing power of the country of the applicant, the revenue and profitability levels of current employer, and any other supporting evidence provided by the applicant.
- Diversity: a factor of nationality and professional experience, diversity criteria assures that each candidate makes significant contribution to the overall diversity of the incoming Executive MBA class.
Application Process
All candidates requesting a scholarship go through a standard application process, which includes the following steps:
1. Submitting fully completed application form and supporting documents no later than November 1st, 2010 (applying for One-Year EMBA 2011 or Two-Year EMBA 2011-2012)
2. Completing a one-on-one interview with an MBA Director, organized in person or via phone, and
3. Receiving formal letter of acceptance.
Once the candidate is accepted, the application, interview score and scholarship essay is submitted for review to the scholarship committee, which makes its decision about scholarship awards. Upon the decision, candidates receive a formal scholarship notification letter no later than March 15, 2010 and November 15th respectively of the program of application.
