IEDC is listed among the 100 most innovative schools in the world
WURI - "World's Universities with Real Impact" listed IEDC among Global Top 100 Innovative Universities

Bled, Slovenia and Seoul, South Korea, November 2020: WURI "World's Universities with Real Impact" is a new university ranking that evaluates the university’s real contributions to our society. WURI highlights creative and innovative approaches to university research and education that focus on:

  • Industrial applications, rather than the traditional ways of counting research papers and lecture-type teaching;
  • Value-creating startups and entrepreneurship, rather than a traditional focus on the number of jobs filled; and
  • Social responsibility, ethics, and integrity, rather than a focus on knowledge and skills just for material success.
  • Student mobility and openness for exchange and collaboration between schools and across national borders, rather than an independent yet closed system.

Although the inaugural WURI 2020 ranking contained Stanford, MIT, and Harvard at the top of the list, it also included universities/colleges such as Minerva Schools at Keck Graduate Institute, Ecole 42, and IEDC-Bled School of Management, which do not normally feature in the traditional university rankings. Their emergence highlights the way in which the WURI Ranking is not based on tradition, reputation, or popularity, but rather is focused on innovativeness, entrepreneurship, responsibility, and openness.

We are very proud that IEDC was listed 23rd place among the WURI "World's Universities with Real Impact" in Entrepreneurial spirit and 83rd place among the WURI "World's Universities with Real Impact".

The IEDC–Bled School of Management is an award-winning school. In 2009, the IEDC was the only institution from Central and Eastern Europe to be named among the 100 top business schools worldwide in the Aspen Institute’s Beyond Grey Pinstripes ranking, for having demonstrated significant leadership in integrating social, environmental and ethical issues into its MBA program.

In 2012, the Executive MBA Program of IEDC–Bled School of Management was recognized by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) as one of the four most innovative MBA programs in the world, among 700 MBA programs accredited by AMBA in business schools in over 75 different countries. The IEDC–Bled School of Management won that recognition for innovation in combining the arts with leadership and management education.

The mission of IEDC, as an agent of change and a learning partner, is to attract the most promising executives and top managers, provide them with world class management education and other relevant services in a truly international context, inspire them for life-long-learning and prepare them to act and add value as competent and responsible transformational leaders in their organizations and society at large.
